Loughborough University’s UK Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) Centre has been shortlisted for the ‘Collaboration of the Year’ category in the HEIST 2025 Awards.

This nomination recognises the significance of the Centre’s strategic partnership with the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL), through which Loughborough became the first UK member of the prestigious MIT Global SCALE Network.

The SCALE partnership is facilitating joint research, teaching, and knowledge exchange across international institutions, with a shared focus on tackling complex global supply chain and logistics challenges. The Centre will also support the development of innovative educational programmes that combine academic excellence with real-world applications and impact.

The HEIST Awards, organised by Havas People – Education, celebrate excellence in higher education marketing, communications, and student engagement. The successful shortlisting in this category reflects the strength and ambition of the collaboration, in addition to the Centre’s commitment to creating purposeful impact.

Professor Jan Godsell, Dean of Loughborough Business School and Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Strategy, said: “The UK SCALE Centre’s collaboration with MIT CTL represents a powerful example of how global partnerships can drive innovation and impact in supply chain and logistics.

“This recognition from the HEIST Awards reflects not only the strength of our academic and industry engagement but also our shared commitment to developing solutions that address real-world challenges. We are proud to contribute to advancing supply chain knowledge and practice on an international stage.”

The winners of the HEIST Awards will be announced at the Gala Awards evening on Thursday 10 July 2025, at the Royal Armouries, Leeds.
